How to add, change, and remove people in your course or course section
Applies to: Course administrators (and instructors with appropriate permissions)
Adding Users to a Course Roster
- Navigate to Participants
- Click one of the Add User buttons
- From the Enrol Participants dialogue, input the email address(es) of the user(s) you'd like to add. You can hit Tab to add multiple users at once.
- Select the course section(s) you'd like the user(s) to be enrolled in. You can also select the parent course to enrol the user(s) in all sections
- Select the course Role this user(s) will have.
- Click Add Users to enrol the users. Users will receive an email invitation to join your course.
Note: New users will not receive an emailed invitation to join your course unless the Send Invitations toggle is turned on at the top right of the page.
Moving Users between Course Sections
Course administrators will often want to move students, TAs and others from one section to another.
- Navigate to Participants
- Select the users that you would like to edit by checking the box at the left of the row
- Click the Edit User button (see below)
- Select the section and/or role you'd like to assign this user to, and click Save
Note: You can also delete the user from this dialogue by clicking the Trash button. The Active status allows you to toggle the status of the user to inactive. This will make the course unavailable to the user but will not delete them from the course (allowing you to reactivate them later if you wish).
Removing a User from a Section or Course
- Navigate to Participants
- Select the users that you would like to delete (remove) by checking the box at the left of the row
- Click the Remove User button (see below)
- Click Yes, Delete on the confirmation dialogue and the user will be removed from the course entirely.
Note: You can delete the user from the edit course role dialogue (shown above) as well. That dialogue also gives you the option of inactivating a user, which will remove their access but allow you to reactivate it easily by returning to that dialogue.
